Casual Friday . . .

Its pouring with rain here, so no riding pictures today I'm afraid. In the meantime we've done a couple of cheeky tweaks to the site & a new product feature so see if you can spot those.

There's also a new clip of Kym here from the upcoming web edit of the Macneil guys' visit, so stay tuned for the full video when it drops!

Kym Grosser Bike Check . . . . .

We've had a couple of bad days here weather-wise - hence the lack of decent updates. But we've used this downtime to bring you the low down on Kym's ride. So head on over to the main site to check it out.

Back to Australia...

The riders have been resting up over the last few days. Niki's wrist has kept him out, Nate was adjusting to British time and Kym's leg finally put a stop to his filming. We all indulged in some partying and had a couple of good nights out making sure Kym enjoyed his last few days here in Brighton. We drove Kym to the airport today and said our goodbyes as he made his way back to sunny Australia. We were sad to see him go and the apartment sure doesn't feel the same now. Kym certainly left his mark on Brighton, we'll miss ya buddy! A big thanks to Kym and Macneil for everything and making his stay possible. Watch this space for the video evidence.

Tuesday's Tweakers...

The Level seems to be the popular warm spot and today was no different. Niki woke himself up with a fuf on one of the biggest back rails and then whipped the pool gap just to make sure. Seeing as it's half term there were hundreds of little kids running about and trying to get themselves hit by us so we soon packed up. But before that Robin managed to entertain us with some tea spillage. Kym took the skin off his palms trying to double tyre a rail, so that took him out for the rest of the day. Brighton seems to have a lot of tweakers roaming about and we tend to bump into some everyday. An old man in a wheelchair shared a few stories with us as we rode another street spot and we then set off towards the seafront to watch another glorious sunset. Nate Moroshan has joined us for the next few days so there should be more treats around the corner.

School's Out...

Half term week always means lots of school riding, and this week should be no exception. The locals Ian, Stan, Mike and Bowl were kind enough to show us about and we got to ride some sweet spots. Kym did a bary down a thirteen stepper after persuading a teacher that he was an ex student there! We ended up on the seafront as normal and joined the seagulls for yet more fish 'n' chips and carried on riding until dark where we battled the pedestrians for some night footage. Seventies number cruncher Ant is joining us tonight along with Mutiny's latest pro rider Niki Croft, so tomorrow should be full of riding.

Baltic...

The recent weather has definitely been a tease as the temperature dropped heavily today. We cruised around and shot some photos with Kym on his usual form and continuing on his footage mission and Bas throwing down a few moves too. Everyone's feeling the colds bite so we're gonna take it easy tonight and see what tomorrow brings.

An Early Taste Of Summer...

Riding around in t-shirts during February is not exactly normal, this has to have been the best day of the year so far. Brighton was rammed full of people, all smiling. It's amazing what can happen when you add sunshine to peoples lives. Again we started at the Level and got those muscles working. Kym showed us how to do tailwhip nosepicks and Bas took his hands off in a fakie, a good start. We cruised through the lanes and landed on the beach, right in front of the old pier, where we rode a sweet kicker until sunset. We watched the birds do their daily synchronized flying routines around the pier and then left for home. What a splendid day.

Anyone For A Free Haircut...

Kym felt like he needed a trim on Monday, so he visited the local barbers for a shave and ended up with a free haircut. The barber was a little sketchy and gave him a grade 0 in the middle of his head! Bas and Kym warmed up at the level today and got a few park clips before heading up the steep hills of Brighton. We stayed up there until the sunset and then headed back for a round of Wii golf.

A Day Of Rest...

Louis and Jake came over for a visit Saturday night and sampled what Brighton has to offer. Here's a few snaps from a busy night and a relaxing Sunday. The riders are rested up and recovered so the tapes will be rolling again tomorrow.

Tying The Knot...

The standout today had to be the newly married couple asking for us to ride in their photos. Just think, we're going to be part of their special day forever, random! We headed along the packed seafront to the curved wall, where we ended up getting abuse some from local asbo's! As soon as they realized we weren't just kids they crawled back into their little shells and went off to the arcades! We've just opened Bas' birthday present, a Wii, so i'll give you two guesses as to what we'll be doing all night!

Nothing To Do With Sunshine...

After watching Dan attempt to flip pancakes all night we were hoping for a good day, and we awoke to blue skies and blazing sunshine, spot on! Kym seems to be able to do nothing at every spot! But in actual fact, it's quite the opposite! We managed to annoy more security but impressed a few too and Dan threw a splendid wobbler. The sun followed us around all day and we made the most of it and covered a lot of ground, with the boys collecting them clips along the way. It's Sebastian's birthday so we're gonna have some beers and head into town. Enjoy your weekend.

Fish 'n' chips...

We cruised the seafront for an afternoon ride today. The sun joined us for awhile and then made way for some good old English grey skies. We treated ourselves to some fine pieces of cod and a helping of chips, can't go wrong there. We passed by some fella trying his Tai Chi moves in the middle of the park! Dan tried a line for about an hour but got there in the end so it was worth the wait. Now it's time to chill and play some ping pong.

England 2-1 Switzerland...

Wednesday seemed fairly quiet seeing as the Macneil boys had gone home, but we still had Kym in tow so all was looking good for the next few days. Dan Lacey came over and joined us for the day too. We stayed local and rode some nearby spots where Kym and Dan put together some good lines. Kym is a machine, it's official! We cruised home in the best sunset of the year so far, and then retired to the lounge to watch Fabio Capello's first game in charge of the new looking England team, which ended in victory, bring on the media hype!

Macneil Part 5...

Monday was our last day of filming with Macneil, so we made the most of it and persuaded the riders to put their laptops down and leave early. We headed along the seafront in the opposite direction and started off at the local concrete park. Nick was blasting the hips and making friends with swans. We rode some more street after that and then went home so everyone could pack their bags and get ready for their last night in town. Riki Tik's had become the popular choice of venue and we chilled there for the night. Good times all round.

We took the Macneil guys to the airport early Tuesday morning and said our goodbyes. It has been a blast, loads of footage clocked and some great memories made. A big thanks to Macneil. Oh and Kym Grosser changed his ticket and is staying down for an extra two weeks. Watch this space for footage from Macneil.

Macneil Part 4...

Saturday was just one of those days. The cold was still biting and Harrison knocked out a set of stairs in one punch! We rode the university only to be kicked out by the over keen security, so we all ended up chilling at home for most of the day.

On Sunday we battled some seriously strong winds and rode street in Hove. We met acid man on the way, he was quite something! A red flat bar give Kym another chance to up his clip count and then we headed back for another laptop session and the first Brighton ping pong open which saw victory for Sebastian Keep. Later that night we went in search of a Sunday roast and visited 'Hotel Pelirocco' and checked out the playroom sponsored by Durex.

Macneil Part 3...

Due to the rain on Thursday, the Macneil guys took the opportunity to visit London and do a spot of sight seeing. It took most of the day to get everyone ready and they didn't actually leave until 4 o'clock in the afternoon! Check out the Macneil site to see what they got up to there.

The weather held up for us on Friday so we quickly left the apartment and hit the streets. We had a quick warm up at the Level which soon turned into a crazy pool session. Kym took all of his limbs off over the pool gap and Gary, Harrison and Nick put together some good lines and we soon moved on. We headed towards the University and found a bunch of spots to ride on the way. But when we finally made it there the cold was beginning to take it's toll so we headed back before night fall. Stu Dawkins came over in the evening and took us all for a Mexican followed by a pub or two, how could we resist!

Macneil Part 2...

Wednesday came around and brought along some sunshine with it. Robin Fenlon came down to hang out and shoot photos and Chris Harrison turned up and kept us all company for the day. Our plan was to head up to the University but we only managed to make it along the seafront as there was simply to much to ride! Gary wall rode over some stairs which seemed to make us all hungry, so we indulged in some traditional fish 'n' chips. Kym was increasing the clip count rapidly and we sessioned Asda's curved wall until the sun went down. We headed back to the apartment, got fresh and then headed out for some drinks and night clubbing.

Macneil Part 1...

The Macneil crew arrived on Monday 28th after the Simpel session had finished. We picked up Harrison Boyce, Gary Young, Nick Halsey and Kym Grosser from Gatwick airport. They'd traveled back on the same flight as Dan and Mark who informed us of their antics with the airport security, let's just say rubber gloves were involved! We took the crew back to the apartment and after a few sessions of ping pong everyone was beat so we all turned in for the night.

After some well needed sleep everyone began to wake up and we eventually left the building to ride some street. We hit the seafront and started to film. The highlight had to be riding the 20 tonnes of cast iron named 'Passacaglia', an abstract art piece which clearly stated 'no skateboarding or climbing' but failed to mention riding!

January...

Keep an eye on the blog as we'll now be updating it on a regular basis, keeping you up to date on what goes on in and around the Seventies house.

A month has passed since we moved into our apartment in Brighton so here's a summary of what's been happening here at the Seventies house in January... We moved in on new years eve and celebrated the start of our new adventure and the coming of the new year, with a house party. By the time we'd finished unpacking the drinks were already flowing and didn't stop til the sun came up.

So once the hangovers were nursed and embarrassing moments forgotten, the filming got underway. The first visitors to the house were Federal, Primo, Lotek and Freemont's Dan Lacey and Federal, Primo and Orhid's Mark Love. They both stayed at the house for next few weeks and were soon joined by Federal and Primo rider Derek Strickland. The weather was predominantly rubbish, so we were forced to ride inbetween rain showers and gale force winds. We passed the time by staying in the apartment playing either table tennis or pro evo which seem to cause more pain than the weather itself! We've already found some good spots to ride. Including a crazy ghetto park which on our third visit was unfortunately boarded up. And an art piece on the seafront which was made ridable thanks to the wood spilled by the sunken cargo ship 'Ice Prince'.

And so we said goodbye to Derek who traveled home to continue pimping his ride and Mark and Dan left for the Simpel Session in Estonia. Macneil were due the next week so gave the house a clean and awaited their arrival.
